Spanish Teacher

Brightmont Academy is an accredited, national academy dedicated to helping students become confident and successful learners. The Birmingham campus is seeking an immediate part-time Spanish Instructor.

Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Applies best teaching practices and expertise to offer positive feedback, engaging motivation, and coaching to promote student’s confidence and high academic outcomes
  • Uses individualized curricular resources to instruct students towards standards using a variety of techniques including lecture, demonstration, audiovisual aids, and hands-on labs to supplement the materials
  • Demonstrate awareness of student’s background, skills, interests, learning styles, and special needs in lesson planning, pacing, and presentation
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovativeness in teaching styles to support students with the Spanish language, written and oral
  • Maintain classroom lesson plans and student records for attendance, performance, and progress
  • Uses discussion and questioning techniques that promote independent learning and produces deeper thinking
  • Demonstrates the ability to embed assessment in instruction and adjust instruction to meet student’s learning needs
  • Ability to adapt, accommodate, and modify instruction and teaching methods to meet student’s learning needs while meeting general education curricula requirements
  • Create and support an environment of respect and rapport while developing a climate that promotes positive learning conditions, in all interactions on campus

Spanish Teacher Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching Spanish at the middle and high school levels
  • Drive to improve the minds and lives of students
  • Expert within content area with the ability to provide fun, yet, relevant instruction
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the campus director, students, and co-educators
  • Positive approach to classroom management and student engagement creating a safe learning environment of mutual respect, high expectations, and professionalism
  • Ability to cross check state standards and course objectives with curriculum
  • Adheres to course schedules, grading, and reporting deadlines
  • Ability to integrate technology into the classroom
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university
  • Available to work flexible hours
  • Ability to commit long-term to a part-time schedule
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal laws
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
